NASN POWER rectifier battery chargers are provided as a reliable DC back-up power source to ensure uninterrupted operation of essential substation equipment, including but not limited to protection relays, control and instrumentation circuits, alarm systems, monitoring equipment, communication and SCADA systems, and other critical auxiliary functions within the electrical power substation.
The battery charger is constant voltage, current limiting type. It shall be of the voltage-controlled type automatically adjusting the charging current.
The battery charger is optional with a transformer of suitable rating and design for the specified auxiliary supply system clearly marked off - circuit tapings is provided on the primary windings, and the change of tapings is by means of links situated in an accessible position. The transformers is capable of carrying the specified continuous output on all tapings. The battery chargers is self-protected in the event of continuous overload and is suitable for re-adjustment to correct for the ageing of rectifiers and other parts.
