The 48V communication power supply is the power supply hub for core equipment such as communication base stations and computer rooms, and its maintenance directly affects the stability of the communication system. The following are the key points for daily maintenance and inspection.

48V communication power supply

Ⅰ、 Daily maintenance

1. Cleaning and environmental inspection

-Dust and moisture prevention: Regularly clean the dust inside the cabinet (at least once a month) to avoid dust accumulation affecting heat dissipation or causing short circuits; Check the humidity in the computer room (recommended 40% -70% RH), and activate dehumidification equipment when the humidity is too high.

-Temperature monitoring: Ensure good ventilation around the cabinet, control the ambient temperature within 0 ℃~40 ℃ (preferably 15 ℃~25 ℃), and avoid direct sunlight or proximity to heat sources.

2. Maintenance of battery pack

-Appearance inspection: Observe whether the battery is bulging, leaking, or oxidized (once a week).

-Voltage measurement: Check the voltage of individual batteries (floating charge voltage of about 2.25V/cell, average charge voltage of about 2.35V/cell), and troubleshoot if the voltage deviation exceeds ± 0.1V.

-Capacity test: Conduct a discharge test once every quarter (recommended to discharge to 30% -50% of rated capacity), record the discharge time, and replace the battery if the capacity is below 80%.

3. Power module inspection

-Running status: Observe whether the module indicator light is normal (green constant light indicates working status, red alarm needs to be dealt with immediately).

-Fan status: Check if the cooling fan makes any abnormal noise or stops running (modules that automatically start and stop every 2 hours need to be verified periodically).

-Load balancing: Ensure even load distribution (deviation ≤ 5%) when multiple modules are connected in parallel, avoiding single module overload.

4. Wiring and Connection

-Terminal tightening: Check if the DC output terminal and battery connection wire are loose (once a month), and use a torque wrench to tighten them to the standard torque (such as 10N · m for M8 terminals).

-Insulation test: Use a 500V megohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance of the DC bus to ground (should be ≥ 10M Ω) to prevent leakage.

Ⅱ、 Regular inspection items

1. Performance parameter testing

-Input voltage: Measure the AC input voltage (220V ± 10%) and frequency (50Hz ± 2%).

-Output voltage/current: Confirm that the DC output voltage is stable at 48V ± 1.5% and the current does not exceed the rated value.

-Ripple factor: Measure the ripple voltage with an oscilloscope (should be ≤ 150mV), and check the filtering capacitor when it exceeds the standard.

2. Protection function verification

-Overvoltage/undervoltage protection: If the analog input voltage exceeds the range (such as 180V or 260V), verify whether the system automatically cuts off the output and alarms.

-Short circuit protection: Simulate a short circuit with a false load and confirm that the circuit breaker or fuse operates within 50ms.

3. Lightning protection and grounding

-Lightning protection status: Check if the lightning protection module is aging (the window color is normal and green, red needs to be replaced), and if the varistor is malfunctioning.

-Grounding resistance: Measure the grounding resistance of the cabinet (should be ≤ 4 Ω) to ensure reliable equipotential connection.

4. Software and Configuration

-Monitoring system: Log in to the power management platform, check historical alarm records, and clear recovered alarm information.

-Parameter calibration: Perform voltage and current calibration once a year to ensure that the error between the displayed value and the actual value is ≤ 1%.

Ⅲ、 Common fault handling

Possible causes and solutions for the fault phenomenon

The voltage of the battery pack drops rapidly. If a single battery fails or a charger malfunctions, replace the faulty battery and check the output of the rectifier module

Frequent module restarts, overheating, input voltage fluctuations, cleaning of fan dust, installation of voltage regulator

Abnormal output voltage, filter capacitor bulging, PWM control board malfunction, capacitor replacement, maintenance control board

Check the status of the lightning arrester and identify the short circuit point when the AC input circuit breaker trips due to mains surge and load short circuit

Ⅳ、 Maintenance precautions

1. Safe operation: Before maintenance, disconnect the mains power and battery pack, wear insulated gloves, and use insulated tools.

2. Spare parts management: Spare batteries need to be charged regularly (once every quarter), and module spare parts should be stored in a dry environment.

3. Emergency response: Configure a backup oil engine or temporary power source to ensure that the battery pack can support the oil engine to start in the event of a power outage (usually taking 30 seconds to 5 minutes).

4. Recording and tracing: Fill in detailed maintenance logs (including time, personnel, parameters, and processing content) and keep them for at least 2 years.

Summary: The maintenance of 48V communication power supply cabinets should follow the principle of "prevention first, active monitoring", through standardized inspections and timely fault handling, and keep records of inspections and repairs, as well as archive videos or pictures.
