The charging and discharging sequence of DC Rectifier / Battery Charger must be determined comprehensively based on the charger type and safety principles.

1. Plug Connection Order During Charging

First, connect the DC plug at the battery end, then turn on the 220V AC power.

1. **Necessity of Non-Switching Chargers**: These chargers lack a voltage regulation circuit. If the power supply is connected before the battery, the high no-load voltage may cause an instantaneous spark, damaging the interface or battery. Connecting the battery first allows the charger to initiate a "soft start" function via the battery's low current, stabilizing before plugging in the mains to avoid voltage surges.

2. Flexibility of Switching Chargers: Some switching chargers with voltage regulation capabilities allow plugging in the power source before the battery, as their internal circuitry automatically adjusts the voltage. However, to ensure compatibility with most scenarios, it is recommended to consistently follow the "battery first, then power source" sequence.

II. Power-off Sequence Upon Completion of Charging

Disconnect the 220V AC power supply first, then remove the battery terminal plug.

1. Avoid high-voltage residual charge: Capacitors inside the charger store electrical energy during charging. Disconnecting the battery end first may allow the high voltage in the capacitors to discharge through the interface, generating sparks and accelerating contact oxidation. Disconnecting the power source first allows the capacitors to discharge slowly through the internal circuit of the charger, reducing safety risks.

2. Prevent reverse current impact: Lead-acid batteries may exhibit a weak reverse current during the final stages of charging. Disconnecting the power supply first can avoid current backflow, which might damage the voltage regulation components of the charger.
