The three phase Static Transfer Switch offers true redundancy and exceptional high reliability for automatic switching system of the power supply. Under the normal working state, the main power supply is within the normal voltage range, and the load is always connected to the main power supply. When the main power supply fails, the load automatically switches to the backup power supply.
The STS static transfer switch adopts the switching mode of first breaking and then passing through (Break before Make), using the high-speed thyristor module as the switching element, which can realize the uninterrupted switching between
different input power sources and provide double circuit power supply for the single power load.
NASN POWER STS uses semiconductor-based thyristors to achieve transfer times of less than a quarter of a cycle (milliseconds).
In the process of operation, the power supply requirements are very strict, requiring continuous uninterrupted power supply and interference suppression, usually equipped with uninterruptible power supply system for power supply. In order to further improve the reliability, multi-loop power supply (multi-power supply) can also be used, so that the power system has a high MTBF index, but many IT devices only have single power input, STS static conversion switch is designed for single power equipment to solve the problem of double circuit power supply.
Using STS static transfer switch, redundant uninterruptible power supply system can be formed, that is, add one or more standby power supply (UPS, mains, generator) to a single UPS (or mains or generator), and supply power to the load through STS switch.
In ordinary times, the A-circuit power supply (such as UPS-A) supplies power to the equipment, and the other primary circuit (such as UPS-B) is the hot backup power supply. When UPS-A fails, the STS switch will automatically switch to UPS-B to ensure the continuity and high reliability of power supply.
